AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE READERS
DATA SHARING ACKNOWLEDGMENT LETTER
This letter is to certify that the _______________________ (“Agency”) has requested to receive
data from the Benicia Police Department’s Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) Program.
Data shared by the Benicia Police Department will be used for law enforcement purposes
ONLY, and not for other purposes, such as, reproductive health care investigations, immigration,
personal use, harassment, or any other uses that do not comply with the Benicia Police
Department’s usage and privacy policy. The Agency further acknowledges that it has reviewed
the Benicia Police Department’s ALPR usage and privacy policy and agrees that the Agency can
and will comply with its terms.
The Agency agrees that it has a usage and privacy policy of its own that meets applicable law for
ALPR end-users, which includes a process for periodic system audits designed to monitor the
security of the ALPR data accessed or used, and the Agency’s compliance with applicable law
and policy.
By signing this Acknowledgment, the Agency agrees to abide by the Benicia Police
Department’s usage and privacy policy when accessing the Benicia Police Department’s ALPR
program and data. Should the Agency fail to follow the requirements detailed in this letter, or
any applicable law or policy, the Benicia Police Department may revoke the Agency’s access to
the Benicia Police Department ALPR program and data.
