There were some questions going around about a website and being “flocked”… Here is our official response. Please note the attachment in this email called “Flock Safety Security Claims and Facts” which also contains very helpful information: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand the seriousness of your concern and the potential impact that public exposure of law enforcement search activity could have on investigations, officer safety, and compliance with state law. Flock Safety does not publicly release agency search data. Flock does not operate or support any public-facing searchable database of law enforcement lookups, and we do not provide license plate search histories to websites or third parties without the agency’s knowledge and authorization. Data collected by Flock devices is owned and controlled by the agency that collected it, and agencies retain full authority over whether and with whom that data is shared. Regarding the website you referenced, we are aware of its existence. Based on publicly available reporting, sites of this kind appear to rely on information that has already been disclosed through public-records processes or other public releases, rather than through any feed or disclosure by Flock. We recognize that agencies must comply with local and statespecific rules governing access, sharing, and disclosure of LPR data. Flock has been implementing additional safeguards, and we recommend re-evaluating your data sharing relationships.
